Lowlands Trail
SINNAMAHONING, PA
Explore the past on the Philadelphia and Erie Railroad located within Sinnemahoning State Park. Along the way, pass by thick spruce stands, grassy openings, vernal ponds, and streamside bottoms. Watch for grassland birds like osprey, elk, and bald eagles---you'll see butterflies, too! Be sure to leave extra time to visit the two wildlife viewing blinds along the trail. Amenities include parking with restrooms at Forty Maples. Unmarked rail trail is 4.1 linear miles, one way. From the intersection of SR 120 and SR 872 in Sinnemahoning, follow 872 N approximately 13.75 miles to the Wildlife Viewing Area access road. Follow the access road to the parking area.
